Immortal Embrace and Forbidden Embrace and has kindly agreed to do an Author Interview with me as part of The Experience Tours.
First of all I want to say a big thank you to Charlotte for taking time out of her busy schedule to answer my questions.
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a stay at home mother of three. I found that I needed to do something for myself instead of focusing all my time and energy on the kids. So I decided to start writing, I have always been one for putting my thoughts and feelings down on paper and this was just an extension of that. I'm so glad that I have begun this journey, I feel as if I have finally found myself.
What was your inspiration for the books?
My children. I want to teach them that they can do anything they set their minds too, and as long as the follow their hearts everything will work out. I have incorporated some of their issues with making friends and trusting others in to my stories. Hopefully they can see that sometimes it is okay to let others in.
How long did it take to go from having written Immortal Embrace to being published?
I began writing Immortal Embrace in November of 2009 I received a contract in May of 2011 and it was published just over a month later. Everything happened very fast and it still seems like a dream sometimes.
If you could change anything, either parts of your books or the process it went through to being published, what would you change and why?
I don't think I would change anything major. I have learned so much over the last few months that I would change some of the wording in Immortal Embrace, use more contractions, but live and learn. I have used what I am learning in the follow up books, so I'm happy about that.
Do you have a schedule of when you write or how long for, or is it spontaneous?
I don't have a schedule, although I have made one up to try and balance things a little better. I guess I will just have to see how that works next month when I start.
If you could be one of your characters who would you pick and why?
Well I already think Sophia has similarities to me when I was a teenager and even a young adult, but I really admire the strength and courage that Ebony shows. I don't really know if I could choose one character as they all have little bits of me and those I love and honestly I am really happy with who I have become and how I have grown over the years.
You have a new book coming soon, Mystic Embrace, do you have a date of release yet for it and can you tell us more about it?
Well Forbidden Embrace was just released on the first of September and Mystic Embrace will follow on November first. My publisher has also requested a fourth book, so I hope to start work on that soon, so it will be ready early in the new year.
Do you have any other book ideas planned?
I have begun work on a adult romance, but have put it on hold to work more on the Embrace series. I also have place for two different science fiction novels. I guess we will just have to see how things go with the Embrace series, these characters have really taken over and won't stop until their story is complete.
Thank you so much for doing the interview with Much Loved Books and good luck for your future releases.
