Ever since Tory Brennan and her friends rescued Cooper, a kidnapped wolf pup with a rare strain of canine parvovirus, they've turned from regular kids into a crime-solving pack. But now the very place that brought them together - the Loggerhead Island Research Institute - is out of funding and will have to shut down. That is, unless the Virals can figure out a way to save it.
So when Tory learns of an old Charleston legend about a famous she-pirate, Anne Bonney, whose fortune was never found, she can't believe her luck - buried treasure is exactly what she needs to save the Institute on Loggerhead! Trouble is, she and her friends aren't the only ones looking for it. And this time, the Virals' special powers may not be enough to dig them out of trouble.

Review
As soon as I had finished Virals I knew I had to read the next instalment so I was so happy when Random House sent me Seizure.

Once again the Virals are up to no good, this time its hunting down Anne Bonny's treasure to help save their parents jobs and keep them together on the island.  With lost artifacts and bits of clues the Virals piece it all together and set out to find the treasure.  But all is not so easy, with hidden tunnels full of booby traps, secret agendas and stalkers, will they survive to find the treasure.

I really enjoyed reading this series and love how the Virals have grown into their powers, they may not be able to control their flare 100% of the time but they certainly know how to make them work, which ensued lots of laughter on my behalf.  Tori however has flares at unwanted times, risking their secret being found out, but is also able to be the only one to communicate telepathically with the others which I think is awesome.
From the moment I started Seizure I was hooked and managed to finish it in two days.  It was easy to immerse myself into their world and found it easy to relate to the characters and their desperation at being split up.  The suspense of what was going to happen had me on tenterhooks and I never guessed who was doing what to try to thwart them.

Kathy Reichs has once again wrote a book that I could not wait to start and did not want to finish.  I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and plan to make a start on her others books to pass the time until book 3.
