Bookish and Bloggish News #2


HarperCollins are thrilled to confirm the much anticipated new children's novel from David Walliams will be called, Ratburger. In further news, due to unprecedented consumer demand the books will now be published at the earlier date of Wednesday 19th September. Publication will be celebrated with a bonanza week of innovative promotion and events dubbed ‘Walliams Week’.

Ratburger, David’s fifth book for children, is pure Walliams genius. In this fabulously
flamboyant tale, David introduces us to uber-villain, Burt, who will undoubtedly go down in children’s books history as the character all children love to hate.

Charlie Higson-The Sacrifice

Fans of The Enemy series by best-selling author Charlie Higson were given the chance to be in the trailer for his new book, The Sacrifice.  A small army of zombie ‘sickos’ and talented young actors were filmed at a secret location in South London. These are a few behind-the-scenes shots of the zombies and Charlie Higson, who created and directed the trailer himself.

The Sacrifice is the fourth instalment in Higson’s cult zombie series, and will be published by Puffin on 20 September. The Enemy series has now sold over 200,000 copies in the UK alone. Watch out for the finished trailer which will be here for you to watch soon…
