Tell Me About It
Evan Lennox is going nowhere fast. She's living with her grandparents after her parents bailed on her, she got kicked out of her posh private school, her ex-boyfriend proved to be the biggest sleaze imaginable, her former best friend is a back-stabber, and her current best friend is stuck in backwoods NJ. To top it all off, one teeny, tiny fire she lit to burn some memories of her ex goes a little out of control and winds up igniting a good piece of a very powerful family's pecan orchard.

Evan lands her pampered behind in court and gets sentenced to community service. Which she knows she deserves. But the hard labor and humiliation may be her undoing.

Until she meets Winchester Youngblood on the site.

Everything about him is tricky, confusing, not at all what it seems, and so sexy, Evan can't resist pulling closer. But every step she takes to get to know him gives her more of a reason to back up and put him as far out of life as she possibly can. Because Winch is one hundred percent complicated, and Evan isn't looking for that. At all. She needs to meet a nice, responsible guy, not share searing kisses with the charming hustler she met after they both got sentenced in court.

But Winch is so much more than what he seems, and Evan finds out that she's falling hard for the guy everyone underestimates and writes off. And Winch realizes that Evan is the one person who's ever challenged him to ask for more out of his life, and her courage inspires him to try to be the person she sees when she looks at him. With every single odd stacked against them, Evan and Winch need to find out whether they have what it takes to fall for each other.
My Thoughts
I am a very big fan of anything written by Liz and I am very lucky to have received an advanced e-copy of this book, sadly I have only just gotten around to reading it and I really wish I had read it the moment I received Fall Guy.

***Please be aware my review may contain spoilers for the story, read at your own risk.***

Evan is all dressed up and on her way to court to await trial and see what sentence she gets for accidentally setting alight her ex-boyfriends orchards. Winch is also there for his own reasons and this duo son end up crossing paths and briefly meeting, and getting the wrong impression of each other. Unbeknown to them both, they we assigned the same community service assignment and now have to spend time together, fulfilling their sentence. Winch has his own history and reasons for being sentenced and at the beginning it is all a mystery, but as the pieces fall together all is revealed.

From the moment I began reading Fall Guy I could not stop. I instantly fell in love with the characters. Evan, while she is still the same person from the Brenna Blizen series, is less bubbly and enthusiastic. Being left to her Grandparents by her own parents who are off doing their own things is hard on anyone, and Evan seems to take it harder. Add in her sentence and mixed feelings about Winch, her life just got more complicated and Brenna is the voice of reason, even more so than before, trying her best to cheer Evan up and be there for her best friend.
Winch has his own issues and secrets to deal with, and the truth is along time coming. Starting a relationship with Evan, yet still keeping the truth on the back burner and constantly having to disappear and cancel dates. The constant push and pull between them, wanting to be near each other, then regretting the decision that they made to do it, kept me on my toes, wondering if they would get together or end things again.

"I'm implying that if I have to kill myself to get through this damn weeding so I can come inside and spend the day with you, it would be cool if you'd let me."

While I don't agree with Winch and the things he does for family, I did feel sorry for him. Feeling pressured into doing these things and having no life of his own can be hard to deal with and with no outside support to help him and make him see sense he is trapped in a permanent loop. While it takes a while for him to tell Evan, when he eventually tells her she is supportive and tries to see it from his side. When one issue pops up she feels strongly against it creates a wall between them, and it takes alcohol and a late night visit for her to help him. I absolutely loved how Evan is very pro active near the end, she reminds me of the old Evan that I know and love, and with her help winch is eventually able to break his family ties and finally make a life of his own.

I loved every single page of Fall Guy. The characters Liz has created instantly draw you into their world and their life, and you feel like you are experiencing everything with them, both the good and bad. I disagreed with the characters and shouted at them in my head, shared their joy and happiness. Each person added their own individuality and personality into the story and I can't wait to see more of them and also more of Winch and Evan.
