Tell Me About It
Jude has spent the whole twenty one years of his life running. From what, he wasn't quite sure. His mother tried to keep him safe; a low profile, a constant move on the horizon, a week's pay always stashed away. She tried to instill in him that he was special somehow, though would never elaborate. He never felt different. He was so completely normal and vanilla that he wondered if it had all been in her head. But then she was murdered and all he saw was a running silhouette of a man as his mother said three final words to him. Three words that changed his whole being.

Never stop running…

Now he's semi-settled into a big town. The college is huge and easy to blend into. It's been three months since he had to move because 'Biloxi', as he calls the man who killed his mother, found him once more.

Then Marley, an eighteen year old girl who is as infuriating as she is blissfully ignorant of her gorgeousness, smashes into his car with hers. Then smashes into his life as he realizes that whatever it is he has that Biloxi wants, she has it, too. And now, they're after them both.

My Thoughts
I had not heard of Smash Into You before so when the option came to take part in the blog tour and review the book I jumped at the chance.  I opened the book and like usual read the dedication page and I was immediately an emotional mess.
Dedication from the book
For my two boys May you always know how to treat a girl, how to respect her, how to love her for who she is, focus on the things you love about each other and compromise everything else, make it work, make it last, adore her. She's yours.

Protect, love, and cherish her.
After pulling myself together I began reading.  When we first meet Jude I thought he was an ass, acting the way he does with all the girls throwing themselves at him, but then I wanted to slap them for continuously doing this, even knowing the reaction they will get off him and seeing how he acts with others before them.  As the chapter progresses we get to see why Jude acts the way he does, we learn about his Mum and his life growing up, how he is constantly on the move just to survive.

Marley makes he appearance by literally smashing into Jude's car, and from that point onwards herself and Jude are continuously bumping into each other, until Jude has to run from his past again, and with Marley in his company they both go on the run.  Jude has every intention of dropping Marley off and leaving her, but that plan goes up in flames when they discover Biloxi has found them both.

As Smash Into You progresses we learn more about Marley, and discover she is no stranger to Jude and they discover they are more entwined than they could have ever guessed.  As she reveals some truths to Jude I felt sorry for her, the feelings Jude describes as he hears her speak we're mirrored by my own feelings.  These two lost souls, wondering around, living each day as it comes we're destined to meet each other, and while their initial meetings were not exactly smooth sailing, they stick together when the time comes, looking out for the other and being a friend, someone the other can rely on in their lonely world.

Smash Into You was a book that get me hooked, from the dedication right up to the very last word.  I loved getting to see this duo build up a tentative relationship that slowly blossomed to more.  The added twist to the story completely threw me, it wasn't something I expected but still blended into the plot seamlessly.  Shelly Crane has a way of drawing you into the story, keeping you engrossed and emotionally invested in the characters.  Smash Into You was a great read from start to finish and I enjoyed every page of it.
