Book Wars! Fireborn by Keri Arthur

Book Wars a weekly feature hosted between two book review blogs – A Life Bound By BooksMuch Loved Books!

It’s a fact that book lovers know all about the covers of the books they covet. Often when a title is released here in the UK, it’s sometimes vastly different across the pond in the US.  So, Lisa from A Life Bound By Books and I have come together to create Book Wars to talk about the difference in covers when it comes to the US vs. UK versions. We hope from time to time authors will chime in with their thoughts as well. We welcome everyone to comment and share their thoughts too! The more the merrier!

Before we get to this weeks Book Wars, we have a winner to announce. The Book Wars winner for Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry is...USA!!!!!!
Thank you to everyone who voted for both books, and for picking a winner.

Also, there's a poll at the bottom of the post that we'd love to hear your input for the two covers! Tell us which one YOU love the most.

Synopsis:
From New York Times bestselling author Keri Arthur comes a brand-new series featuring heroine Emberly Pearson—a phoenix capable of taking on human form and cursed with the ability to foresee death....

Emberly has spent a good number of her many lives trying to save humans. So when her prophetic dreams reveal the death of Sam, a man she once loved, she does everything in her power to prevent it from happening. But in saving his life, she gets more than she bargained for.

Sam is working undercover for the Paranormal Investigations Team, and those who are trying to murder him are actually humans infected by a plaguelike virus, the Crimson Death—a by-product of a failed government experiment intended to identify the enzymes that make vampires immortal. Now all those infected must be eliminated.

But when Emberly’s boss is murdered and his irreplaceable research stolen, she needs to find the guilty party before she goes down in flames....

Now here's another great cover that Michelle selected for this weeks Book Wars! And each is so dramatic and beautiful in their own ways.

It's the flames that are so striking in both and the US cover takes it to a whole new level with how the model is almost a part of them, kind of like an extension of her. So, it's this alone that makes it an easy choice for me in this weeks vote, the US cover is the clear winner in my opinion. What's YOUR vote? Cast it in the poll below.

When this book was initially picked I thought I would have a tough time picking my favourite cover. But seeing the two covers together makes me realise it's going to be easier than I expected.
I love the UK cover, and this is the one I own, and have reviewed here, but there is just something about the USA one that draws my attention more.
I love how dramatic the flame effect is, how it stands out so much against the  dark background. I also love how it encompass Emberly and even rises above her.

Its a USA win for me this week.
