Tell Me About It
Seventeen-year-old Cassie Hobbes has a gift for profiling people. Her talent has landed her a spot in an elite FBI program for teens with innate crime-solving abilities, and into some harrowing situations. After barely escaping a confrontation with an unbalanced killer obsessed with her mother’s murder, Cassie hopes she and the rest of the team can stick to solving cold cases from a distance.

But when victims of a brutal new serial killer start turning up, the Naturals are pulled into an active case that strikes too close to home: the killer is a perfect copycat of Dean’s incarcerated father—a man he’d do anything to forget. Forced deeper into a murderer’s psyche than ever before, will the Naturals be able to outsmart the enigmatic killer’s brutal mind games before this copycat twists them into his web for good?
My Thoughts
When I first saw Killer Instinct on netgalley I had to request it. I really enjoyed the previous book and wanted to find out what would happen next for the Naturals. I really did not think I would get approved with it being a Disney-Hyperion book, so I was shocked and excited when I got the email saying I had been approved.

When I began reading it did take me a few minutes to remember who the characters were and get them straight in my head, but once that was sorted I continued with the book. I really liked getting to catch up with all the characters again, but I do have a soft spot for Sloane with all her facts, and exact details. Killer Instinct also brings with it a new character in the form of Agent Sterling. I didn't like her initially, I think from past experiences in the previous book, plus Cassie's feelings, mixed in with Sterling's attitude towards the naturals, I just felt like she was the bad person in all of this. As the story progresses we get to delve into Sterling's mind, and also her history, and it's pretty easy to see why she acts the way she does.

I love how Killer Instinct literally plays with your mind, how it fools you into thinking one thing when the reality is something completely different. The twists and turns consistently and continually keep you on your toes, but also the edge of the seat, leaving you needing desperate to find out what will happen when you turn the page.
The progression of the story was steady and really gave you time to soak in all the details, the little hints and clues but also keeps you guessing. I lost count of how often I tried to piece the puzzle together to solve the mystery, only to find out I was wrong and had been lead in the wrong direction.

Jennifer has once again one an amazing job of keeping you in suspense, leaving you hanging, and then showing you how it all went down. The ending of Killer Instinct wasn't what I expected in regards to the new situation, but I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for the Naturals.

I have only just read the first book in this series in the last month so hopefully when I get round to reading this the characters will still be fresh in my head, This is always my trouble with series books, I can never remember what happened in the previous one.
