Tell Me About It
Jesper Jinx is eleven, and probably the unluckiest person in all of Puffington Hill. Everything he touches seems to end up in sweet disaster. Hence his nickname 'Jinx'.

In this fifth book of Jesper Jinx's wonderfully wicked adventures chaos unfolds when Jake the school bully meets an ancient chocolate bar. Soon, things get even weirder when Jesper's mum can't bake her cherry pie because her precious cherry tree's gone missing. And then, to top it all off, Snowy the Cat decides to go on a hunger strike.

Can Jesper save the day with his best Boredom Breaker ever or will a diabolical lunch thief get to him first?
My Thoughts
The Jesper Jinx series is always guaranteed to make me laugh, no matter what the situation is Jesper always gets up to mischief. Jesper Jinx and the Scrumptious Snacks brings us more tricks, more mischief, and some pay back.

The Intro Sequence
In which Jesper is thinking about his future girlfriend and gets over anxious, and throws a ball through the ceiling into the attic, leaving a hole in its wake. Melinda gets involved and as payback for threatening to tell thier parents, Jesper plays a genius trick on her.

About Scrumptious Snacks
A brief word from the author, warning us about the amazing treats we are about to read about.

The Missing Cherry Tree
Mum has plans to make her famous cherry pie for author friend visiting, but that morning the tree has vanished, only to reappear later that night. The author friend is asked to interrogate Dad, Melinda and Jesper to find out the truth and each one blames another person.

The Truth (by Snowy the cat)
This story tells us what really happened to the cherry tree, and it's all thanks to Snowy and a little help from friends.

Melinda's Giant Jelly Snake
Melinda has had enough and decides it's time Jesper was on the receiving end of a prank. I loved how she lulls him into a false sense of security, and weaves a fantastic tale to get Jesper's attention.

Jesper jinx and the Ancient Chocolate Bar
An escape from a bully leads Jesper and Oliver into the forbidden second floor of school, where they find an extremely old chocolate bar, which has unfortunate side effects on the bully, This was a funny story and was well and truly deserved payback for the bully.

Final Verdict
Jesper Jinx and the Scrumptious Snacks was just as funny as the previous books. I love the illustrations and the quick stories. It's perfect for young and reluctant readers, with enough going on to get their attention but short enough to keep them reading.
