Tell Me About It
A set textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since publication, Newt Scamander's masterpiece has entertained wizarding families through the generations. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an indispensable introduction to the magical beasts of the wizarding world.

Scamander's years of travel and research have created a tome of unparalleled importance. Some of the beasts will be familiar to readers of the Harry Potter books - the Hippogriff, the Basilisk, the Hungarian Horntail... others will surprise even the most ardent amateur Magizoologist.

Narrated by Eddie Redmayne, this is the first audio book edition of Scamander's textbook ever to be released. Having starred as Newt Scamander himself in the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, who better to narrate this Hogwarts Library book from one of the wizarding world's most famous Magizoologists? Eddie's film credits include The Danish Girl, My Week with Marilyn, Les Misérables and The Theory of Everything, for which he won a Golden Globe, an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Actor.

My Thoughts
I fell in love with the Harry Potter universe when I first read the books, then all over again when I got to listen to them. When I got the chance to listen to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them I jumped at the chance. Not having read this book yet, this was my first foray into this world (if we don't couldn't the movie) and one I was excited to make a start on.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them audiobook isn't very long, 1 hr and 40 mins in total, so I was able to get through this quite quickly. One of the main things that drew me to this audio was that fact that Eddie Redmayne narrates it himself, so it was easy for me to picture him as Newt as he narrated the story

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them goes through the list of magical beasts and creatures, giving us the names in alphabetical order, their Ministry of Magic Classification, as well as a short description and information about said creature. My favourite example of this is the flobberworm, with a description of 'it moves very little'.

Narrator
Eddie Redmayne as a narrator was perfect, for me he is Newt and he fits this role to a tee. His personality comes across through the story and really draws you in.

Final verdict
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a great addition to the wizarding world, and very handy for all witches, wizards, squibs, and muggles to learn about these creatures.
