Recent Reads

Recent Reads is a way for me to round up books that I have read recently that are either too small to really give a detailed review of them, or are books read for fun with no review notes taken.

Every Which Way But Dead by Kim Harrison
This is the third book in The Hollows series. I love the characters in this book and really enjoyed seeing what came next for Rachael, Ivy, and Jenks. I really like the progression of the series as a whole (so far) as well as the progression of the book. I like revisiting this world and I think it's about time I ventured back to it.

The Woman in Black by Kerry Wilkinson
I've read the previous books in this series, so decided to mix it up and get the audiobook version for this book. I love the suspense of this one, never knowing who was leaving the hands and sending the fingers. This is another world I need to revisit very soon

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
This one took ages for me to get around to reading, and once I picked it up I was hooked, staying up till the early hours to finish this one. I loved getting to see the forces divide or combine, as well as the 'behind the scenes' arrangements made by Aelin/Celaena. The ending wasn't what I expected and I'm already counting down the days to the next instalment.

Magic in the Blood by Devon Monk
This was another series I've had waiting to be read. I enjoyed this one more than the previous book as the background knowledge is there...even if it is a bit annoying to be told all about it again. I loved the progress of Allie's magic and what she can do now, as well as how the future looks.
