Tell Me About It
Around the time that Freya loses her voice while recording her debut album, Harun is making plans to run away from everyone he has ever loved, and Nathaniel is arriving in New York City with a backpack, a desperate plan, and nothing left to lose. When a fateful accident draws these three strangers together, their secrets start to unravel as they begin to understand that the way out of their own loss might just lie in helping the others out of theirs.
My Thoughts
When I found out about I Have Lost My Way i was excited to read it, and when I was asked to be part of the blog tour I didn’t hesitate. Already knowing what Gayle Forman writes like, I knew what to expect going into this book.
Freya, an up and coming singer has suddenly lost her voice, if she doesn’t find it soon then her producer will kick her to the kerb. Nathaniel has no family, and arrives in New York with no idea of where to go or what to do. Harun has secrets he is hiding from his family, and these secrets end up losing the one person he loves. Each character has their own path to walk, but their paths are crossing in an unexpected way.

I liked getting to meet each character as an individual, we get to know their personality, their story, and what put them on their current path. We see the start of each path and how they all end up crossing. Each character has a different story, a different past they are trying to escape, but they accept each other with open arms......or more like falls and hospital visits.....but they are open to hear the others story, even if it all comes as a surprise to them. They help each other in the most unexpected ways, and for some this means not being concerned about the consequences and accepting the freedom it brings.

I Have Lost My Way is a book that brings hope, and inspiration. It teaches how to accept people for who they are and not what they are or what they believe. I liked seeing how close this trio become in such a short space of time, standing alongside each other, helping the other person out, and not judging. I loved the idea behind the story, and how it is portrayed within the pages. The characters feel real, and I found it easy to become emotionally invested in their outcomes. The ending of the book wasn't what I expected, but I liked seeing it all come together when it mattered the most.

Final Thoughts
I Have Lost My Way is a book that everyone needs to read. I squeezed my reading time into every available opportunity to get this finished to see how it all ended. This is a must read, especially for fans of Gayle Forman.
